Short-term renting your apartment in Rovaniemi is much easier than you might think.
Many people think Airbnb hosting is entirely passive income, but in reality it requires constant messaging, cleaning coordination and price updates.
Lapland Host makes all of this completely effortless for you in three stages.
If your apartment is empty, our team can furnish and style it to meet even the expectations of international travellers.
A professional photographer visits the property, and we create optimised listings for all the largest channels.
We answer guest messages around the clock, manage hotel-quality linen and cleaning, and update prices daily using an algorithm-based approach.
You own the property, and we manage it with complete transparency and no fixed monthly fees.

Who actually stays in my home?
Guests book through Airbnb, Booking.com and our direct channel, and every reservation goes through the same screening: verified identity, previous review history and purpose of stay. Unclear bookings are cancelled before arrival.
Most guests in Lapland are families and couples travelling for the northern lights, the ski resorts and winter activities. We do not accept party bookings, and in family homes the guest count is always tied to the number of beds.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Damage is documented during cleaning and claimed primarily through the booking channel's own protection (Airbnb AirCover or the equivalent Booking.com process). Small wear items such as a broken glass are replaced immediately without bothering you.
We also recommend an insurance policy that covers rental use. We go through insurance during the initial survey, before the first guest arrives.
Can I still use the property myself?
Yes. You block your own dates in the calendar whenever you like, at no cost. In practice many homeowners keep Christmas and the ski holiday week for themselves and rent out the rest.
Telling us your dates early lets us optimise pricing around the remaining season, which affects income more than the number of blocked nights.
How much work does this require from me?
After the survey and the agreement, no regular work is required from the owner. We handle photography, listings, pricing, guest communication, cleaning coordination, linen and maintenance visits.
You receive a monthly report on bookings, occupancy, reviews and payouts. Any decision that permanently affects your home — purchases, renovations, house rules — is always asked from you.

What does my home need for renting to make sense?
- A furnished, well-kept whole: beds, kitchen equipment, a washing machine and a working internet connection.
- Easy arrival: a key box or smart lock so guests can check in at any hour.
- A use permitted by the housing company or local planning — we verify this before starting.
- Insurance that covers rental use and basic fire safety equipment.
